| I started tying small flies for creeks and rivers in 1967. I was 10 years old. I fished |
| streams and mountian lakes studying what would make the fish bite. |
|
| Over the years of working in business, my greatest release was being in the outdoors. I |
| started fishing Lake Pend Oreille for Mackinaw and especially the fighting Gerard |
| Kamloops Rainbow. |
|
| I developed my own Streamer Flies and sure caught alot of fish (many over 20 lbs.). |
| I needed a name for my flies and my boat, so my friends started calling me " SHOO FLY " |
| because I owned a Shoe Store. Soon, I was tying by request and finally started retailing |
| my flies in 1992. In my quest of matching what the fish would bite on, I designed a wood |
| plug. I hand lathe the bodies and air brush them. I designed the heads to give them incred- |
| able action. I put a scent pod in the tail for even more added attracting ability! |
| I started the Shoo Fly Fishing Company in 1997 and now build small flies, streamer flies, |
| hand turned plugs and custom painted spoons. |
